Televisionary Android

User will be able to login to the Televisionary app through a mobile phone or tablet which has Android or iOS platform. If user has an account in trakt.tv web service it will allowed to login to the Televisionary app by using that particular account. If not user has to create new account through the app. After login into the system user will be shown latest details about TV series/movies. User can set ratings, checking the show, Add to the favourites and put like and comments. Also user can keep reminders and user can view news feeds about upcoming TV shows. Data which are need to do those activities will be imported by tract.TV web service.







Use case name: - Authentication

Actors:-
People who having mobile phone or tablet within android or iOS platform which has installed Televisionary app.

Description:-
Users who have accounts already in trakt.tv web service can log in to the televisionary app by using same account details. Once registered user add his user name and password etc, app will check them with Trakt.tv web service’s database and allowed to log in for relevant user details. If not user has to create new account in trakt.tv to log in. Also it can be done with the app.Trkt.tv API will use to parse the data.

Triggers:-
User initiates the scenario by log in into the account by entering their user name and password.

Pre-conditions:-
1. Internet connection and connection with trakt.tv API
2. Having an account in trakt.tv web service.

Post-conditions: -
User will be successfully logged in into the application.

Normal Flow:-
1. User provides relevant user name and password and click button to log into the application.
2. App will check the user details with the trakt.tv web service.
3. User will direct to the home page of the Televisionary application.

In this project we hope to develop Televisionary app for Android and iOS devices. Already we have a Televisionary app for Windows phone. It is not just an ordinary TV show tracking app. It is intended to be a great mobile experience. We hope to develop this Televisionary app for Android and iOS devices.

1. Find and follow your favorite TV shows
2. Detailed show info (network, genre, cast, summary, air time)
3. Detailed episode info (summary, air time)
4. Mark episodes as watched/unwatched
5. Basic statistics of followed TV shows
6. Display TV show ratings
7. Social Media integration
8. Track your recent activities (user log)
9. Get updates on trending shows
10. Auto time adjustment (for TV show scheduling)
11. A calendar view to track followed episodes
12. Live tile updates for upcoming TV shows (with background scheduling)
13. Notifying the user when the upcoming TV show starts

IT project management and project-based work is a complex, team effort. At The Code Warriors Group, we make sure that the team includes all the participants required to make the project successful. Our Industry-based approach, straightforward methodology, and effective tools and procedures assure that all project participants understand the project and have both the overall and the day-to-day information they need to efficiently, effectively, and successfully carry out their roles. We are 2nd year students of Faculty of Information Technology, University of Moratuwa. For our 2nd year Industry Based project we join with 99X Technology to develop Televisionary App for Android devices. 99X Technology has already developed the Televisionary Windows app.


We decided to deliver our experience and achievements through this blog. Because it will help other people get an idea about How to go through with a project, Agile Software Development process and many things about Android app development.
